2009-Nova Scotia - Home

Left Halifax July 19 and headed South to Yarmouth, where we had made reservations on the ferry to Portland, Maine.  This was the high speed CAT which crossed in 5 1/2 hrs.

The weather going south was getting more misty as we got closer to Yarmouth.

4 PM was our scheduled departure. We had a good sailing tour and took the opportunity to rest. We also had  made reservations at a hotel near by at the arrival.  That was a good idea because it took 1 1/2 hr to clear the American customs.

Next morning planning to leave we saw  pouring rain from our hotel window at 4 AM. Not very encouraging to start the long ride back. We waited a little bit and at 5 AM left with now to be a little rain but  misty. We decided to take the interstate, considered to be safer and after a little riding it cleared up. When we reached Albany it was sunny and warm.

In Albany we had planned to meet a new riding friend which was very fun. We had not much time, was a quick meeting in the truck-stop but we will meet again. Always so interesting to get to know new people.

We continued our trip to Detroit.

Last segment was with the ferry we go through this narrow channel we leave Muskegon!

Arrived home after 7951 miles with no problems.   A perfect vacation!
