37- A fogy day for riding

Woke up hearing the pouring rain outside.

Down at the reception they had the weather forecast and it said that in an hour the rain would stop.

JC and I, decided to have a good breakfast waiting for the weather to clear and .....yes, it stopped raining, they where correct .

After loading the bikes and starting to roll, we found a heavy fog.

We where still in high elevation, so decided to get down to the valley and see how it looked there.

The fog was hanging high in the tops of the mountains but the valley was dry and sunny.

In the valley JC and I split our way, I continued now direction North to Detroit and he went home.

I advanced nicely, until there was a traffic accident and was stuck for a long time.

I asked a trucker next to me, what was going on and he informed me there was a truck rolled over.

OK,..... so patience .....and eventually …...passed the great chemical spill on the road. No wonder...we where stuck so long, I thought.

....crossed through a long tunnel  and then further North turned off again from the interstate to route 19 direction Oak Hill in West Virginia and decided to stop for the day.

Next day continued towards Detroit, MI  on 19 and then followed route 60 along the Kanawha River riding again through some nice small charming towns.

I was obvious riding through Coal mining country

here the nice small charming towns along the river.

The Kanawha River with a lowwide  waterfall

Suddenly was riding into the town of Charleston and being surprised by the view of the West Virginia Capitol.

I had to stop and do some sight seeing even if was short in time.

From Charleston I turned to the Interstate 77, direction to Detroit, where I and saw this contrasting ‘Amish Buggies’ along big coal trucks....

I stayed in Detroit  for a few days with our daughter and then finally the last stretch West through Michigan taking the ferry from Muskegon to MIlwaukee, WI . avoiding trafic in Chicago.

Left vey early in the morning so I could catch the 10 AM boat.

Muskego's harbor with a fantastic day for sailing across Michigan Lake.

After a great crossing a few more hours of crossing Wisconsin from East to West I arrived safe home and put my bike in the ‘stable’.

Since shipping my bike South to California and back home I have ridden approximately 7000 miles.  My bike has proved to be reliable one more time. That is a great feeling.

I have had many extraordinary experiences, all have been unforgettable.

I am ready for another adventure again.........hopefully not to far in the future.

Hope next time sharing the new experiences with Pedro..
